According to MacRumors, Apple seeded Mac OS X 10.6.8 Build to developers. A new build comes with a build number 10K524 and hints to us that we will see at least another update for Snow Leopard. Snow Leopard will have at least one update till the public version of Mac OS X Lion will launch in this summer.
Generally 10.x.x updates after 10.x.5, most of the time any changes made are minor maintenance updates.
With the update checking in as a 1 GB download, developers are reportedly being asked to focus their testing on AirPort, Graphics Drivers, Mac App Store, Networking, QuickTime and VPN, the same areas highlighted in the first developer build last week.
As we have previously noted, Apple is going to make Mac OS X Lion a major focus of its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) scheduled for just a few weeks from now. Apple has pegged the public launch of the next-generation operating system for “summer”, although a more specific timeframe is not yet known. Consequently, Mac OS X 10.6.8 may be the last update for Snow Leopard before Lion débuts.
