WD My Book Thunderbolt Duo is now 4 TB and 6 TB

Western Digital My Book Thunderbolt Duo is now available in 4 TB and 6 TB storage capacities. New portable hard-disk quota ceiling is 4 TB and 6 TB.

Daisy-chaining of up to six My Book Thunderbolt Duo drives (or other Thunderbolt peripherals) is supported and the device comes with dual Thunderbolt ports. This means 36 TB storage  is possible with Thunderbold Duo.  This dual-drive unit is available in 4 TB (2 x 2 TB) and 6 TB (2 x 3 TB) capacities. New My Book Thunderbolt Duo has RAID 0, 1 and JBOD mode. Windows users on a Mac with Boot Camp benefits from this feature. WD My Book Thunderbolt Duo allows you to use files anywhere.

The product features compatiblity with Time Machine and comes formatted as HFS + Journaled for Mac out of the box. Large graphics, video, or music files are easier to deal with for Mac-based creative professionals. This is the first release of bulk-sized portable hard-disks to US consumer market. Apple might plan releasing new macbook pros with this feature.

My Book Thunderbolt Duo has a brushed aluminum exterior. It’s dimensions are 6.5 inches (H) x 6.2 inches (D) x 3.9 inches (W), (165 x 157 x 99 mm). 4.73 lb (2.15 kg) with the 4 TB unit and 4.98 lb (2.26 kg) with the 6 TB unit .

The New 4 TB My Book Thunderbolt Duo is available now for US$599.99. 6 TB My Book Thunderbolt Duo has a price of $699.99. Thunderbolt cable is needed and sold separately.
